Armed children confront soldiers in Caborca, Sonora; three people were killed and eight arrested

Elements of the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) were carrying out a security operation when they detected a group of people who tried to flee by firing at the soldiers. There are three killed and eight arrested, of which six are minors.

Around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, within the Palma Dorada subdivision, the armed confrontation began that ended in a home on 32nd Street and Sonoyta Avenue, in the municipality of Caborca.

The official report indicates that when carrying out operations in the Burócrata neighborhood, elements of the Mexican Army were attacked by people with firearms, so when repelling the aggression three people were killed and eight alleged criminals were arrested.

Of those arrested, six are minors, captured with high-caliber weapons, so they are under guard in the facilities of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), for investigation.

Seven of the people arrested are men and one woman, who were also seized with six AK-47 firearms, a pistol, various spent cartridges of different calibers, four tactical vests and AK-47 rifle magazines.

Both the detainees and the evidence were placed at the disposal of the corresponding authorities, the State Public Security Board reported.
