A new wave of violence in the municipalities of Culiacán and Navolato, in the state of Sinaloa, left 10 people dead (seven men and three women). Among the victims are two members of the Municipal Police.
On Friday night, public security elements that maintained a control point on the Culiacán-Navolato highway, near the campus of the Colegio de Bachilleres de Sinaloa Number 46, in the municipality of San Pedro, were attacked by a group of armed civilians.
During the attack, officers Ivan Orlando “N” and Carmen “N” died, while two of their colleagues, whose identities were reserved, were injured and taken to a hospital, while the National Guard and the Army launched an operation to search for the armed men, without being able to locate them.
In a house in the República Mexicana neighborhood, in the state capital, where a clandestine gambling game was taking place, two people, one of them female, were killed when they were attacked with gunshots.
The information provided on this incident indicated that armed persons entered the place where gambling games were being held and without saying a word shot the woman and the man who were gambling there and then fled the scene.
In a report from the Public Security Secretariat it was revealed that on the shoulder of one of the lanes of the bypass that connects with the Benito Juárez highway, very close to the La Primavera housing complex, the body of a man was found with his hands tied behind his back and bullet wounds.
A sixth victim was found on the side of Benjamín Hill Avenue, near a shopping plaza, in the Barrancos sector, in the western part of Culiacán, his body had bullet wounds.
On the Culiacán-Eldorado highway, in the municipality of Costa Rica, two males were found with their hands tied, with signs of torture and bullet impacts, and their identities are unknown.
On the Benito Juárez, Culiacán-Los Mochis highway, in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Navolato, three occupants of a pickup truck were shot by armed civilians. A man and a woman died in the attack, and the third male occupant was injured.
