Bacalar Set for Economic Boost with Marriott Arrival and New Projects

The arrival of the Marriott group to Bacalar is expected to significantly boost the local economy, generating new employment opportunities, especially for workers completing the Mayan Train project, announced Bacalar’s municipal president, Alfredo Contreras Méndez.

This hotel consortium is set to begin operations with the construction of its first 40 super luxury rooms, part of a larger project that aims to establish Bacalar as a world-class destination.

Contreras Méndez highlighted that the construction phase will create jobs, and once completed, additional personnel will be needed for the hotel’s operation, further increasing job opportunities for local residents.

Additionally, the mayor reported that a national chain pharmacy and a new ADO terminal will be inaugurated in Bacalar this year, with the presence of the state governor expected at these events.

“These achievements reflect the joint work and development we are promoting in Bacalar, generating significant economic benefits for the families of the municipality,” emphasized Contreras Méndez.
