The Anime Fest Riviera Maya 2025 will take place on November 8th and 9th at the Teatro de la Ciudad and the Centro Cultural Playa del Carmen, where fans of this culture can enjoy a variety of events organized by a community initiative.

Alejandra Martínez, president of Akiba Kei Paradise, explained that this event has expanded its offerings in terms of showcasing anime culture in Playa del Carmen.

“We’ve been holding this event for several years. We’ll have a free medieval festival in the parking lot. We’ll have dune readings, medieval weddings, and many other medieval-related activities. We’ll also have a music festival from 3:30 to 7:30,” explained Alejandra Martínez.

This is a cultural segment that attracts many young people due to their passion for Japanese anime and similar content from Asian countries, which is a major consumer group.

“This November 8th and 9th, we’ll be at the Cultural Center and the City Theater starting at 2:00 PM with tons of activities, surprises, and special guests,” she explained.

The buildings are located on CTM Avenue at 125th Street in the case of the Playa del Carmen Cultural Center, while the City Theater is located behind the former.

“We’ll have a mascot race, an animal costume contest… and Coldplay will be performing,” she added.

For Alejandra Martínez, the message they’re conveying is to create a space where young people can express their preferences, where they can find others with similar interests for a healthy social gathering.

“This is for everyone, for those who like video games, K-pop, and also to discover other areas that might not be common but are becoming popular, like Japanese anime,” she explained.

This revitalizes a space in the Cruz de los Servicios area, where the new center of Playa del Carmen is located, and offers the possibility of providing more opportunities for healthy recreation.
