The En Bici program will reach Francisco de Montejo, Pacabtún and Fidel Velázquez, as stated by the director of government of the Mérida City Council, Ignacio Gutiérrez Solís, adding that they also work with the Tecnológico to the west, on Quetzalcóatl Avenue and with the UADY social sciences campus to the north.
“There you will be seeing us in those areas checking the logistics and planning issues of this program that is a benefit for the environment, which reduces traffic, the load of vehicles, the load of CO2 and that generates savings in economy for the families.”
Likewise, he said that the system will go from 39 to 70 bike stations and from 300 to 600 units, in order to cover the polygon of function, which will be broader, in addition to continuing to work on improving the system’s infrastructure so that users have better service, he pointed out that the program has been very well received.
“We have received requests from schools, universities, even from companies and local shops and businesses that ask us to put a bike station nearby or to expand the perimeter of action and today we are working with the Tec campus in the west, in Social Sciences campus of the UADY to the north, with the shops on Avenida Quetzalcóatl and so on at various points to improve mobility.”
