Aerus opens new route; this is the destination you can reach in 40 minutes

Air connectivity is strengthened in the southern zone of Tamaulipas with the launch of a new route between Tampico and Ciudad Victoria, where you can go and come back the same day by plane between these two Tamaulipas municipalities.

The new flight left today from the Tampico International Airport “General Francisco Javier Mina” at 11:40 am, arriving at the Ciudad Victoria “Pedro J. Méndez” at 12:24 pm, with around 40 minutes in the air.

The return this Monday is planned at 3:50 pm, which opens the possibility of traveling from the port to the capital on the same day. The service will be offered with 14 weekly frequencies.

With this new route, 5 more are inaugurated at the same time from Ciudad Victoria to Tampico, in addition to the cities of Matamoros, Reynosa, San Luis Potosí and Monterrey.

“In a year of operations, the airline has managed to connect the northeast with the south of the country, we have registered 3 thousand operations transporting 14 thousand passengers safely,” said Daniela Ramírez, Marketing Manager of Aerus.

Aerus goes for international routes

The company’s objective is to advance throughout the Mexican republic, in addition they will be looking to open new international routes for 2025, she indicated.

“Those international routes would leave from Monterrey to the closest places in the United States, the routes are still under analysis, by June we will know more about where we will fly from the American Union and they will be announced” he said.

They currently have five aircraft, three of them with nine seats and two with 12 seats. The expectation for 2024 is to double the number of passengers mobilized in the first year of operations.

The average cost of the ticket is $ 1,900 the one-way flight with taxes included.

The growth of the flow of air travelers through the Tampico airport has been constant, since in 2023 a 13.6% increase was recorded, during December 47,192 people traveled from Tampico, of which 41,356 did so on national flights and 5,836 on international flights.

In trips abroad, the annual increase was 25.2% and in December 15.3% with flights to Houston and connections. Throughout the year, 63,643 passengers traveled by plane on international flights from Tampico.
