According to the Ministry of Economy, from January to April 15, Querétaro concentrated investment announcements for 5,783 million dollars.
Querétaro, Qro. During this year, 24 investment projects have been completed for the state, according to the Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu).
Among these investments there are projects for the automotive industry, for the aerospace industry, for manufacturing, services, and Information Technologies, explained the head of Sedesu, Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero.
In the recent tour that a delegation of public servants from Querétaro made to the Hannover Messe 2024, in Germany, and to Austria, seven investments were confirmed for 3,000 million pesos and will involve the creation of almost 3,000 jobs.
During the German industrial fair, which took place from April 22 to 26, the local mission participated in around 50 business meetings.
“Recently on the tour of Hannover, Germany and Austria, there were seven investment projects, in addition to almost 50 business meetings that we carried out during the five days of the Hannover fair, it is a positive result, it was 3,000 million pesos investment (announced),” he noted.
As part of the activities to promote the state, he recalled that at the beginning of April a delegation from Querétaro visited Houston, Texas, with the purpose of exploring business opportunities, in addition to holding a meeting with businessmen from that region to study ways of linking.
From that tour arose the project that will seek to certify, before NASA, the Querétaro International Airport (AIQ) as a venue for the launch of space flights.
“In Houston we were visiting space projects, particularly the possibility of certifying the airport as a spaceport, we had meetings with companies that work within the Houston spaceport and that are looking for aerospace suppliers,” the official added.
Plans
Among the recently announced projects is the investment of 119.2 million pesos announced by Schunk, a German technology firm, in the plant that operates in the entity.
ZF Group, a German automotive company, will also spend 222 million pesos to expand its operations in the entity, incorporating a first cable steering line with steering wheel actuators.
Prettl, a German company, announced that it will install its fifth plant in the entity, in Cadereyta de Montes, where it plans to add 1,000 employees. The group also plans to invest $450,000 in solar energy equipment at the Colón plant.
The German manufacturer Phoenix Contact will install a plant in Querétaro to produce connectors, cables and sensors; It will invest 60 million euros and generate 700 jobs.
Engel, an Austrian company dedicated to manufacturing plastic injection molding machines, will expand its presence in the state with a purse of 1.1 billion pesos.
Similarly, the Austrian manufacturer GG Cables and Wires, in the automotive sector, will invest 124 million pesos to expand the San Juan del Río plant.
Based on records from the Ministry of Economy, from January to April 15, Querétaro concentrated investment announcements for 5,783 million dollars, thereby leading the list of entities with the most investment announcements. That amount represented 16% of the 36,153 million that have been registered in the country.
