After the power outage this Wednesday, the hotels, restaurants and shops of Aldea Zama, in Tulum, recorded economic losses due to the delay in regularizing the service, which did not allow them to offer normal operations.

Carla Patricia Andrade Piedras, director of the Tulum Hotel Association, stated that electrical failures are frequent, especially in this area and have no justification from the Federal Electricity Commission.
“We know that these situations cause effects not only on normal operations, but also damage to equipment such as air conditioners, refrigerators, televisions, computers, not only to hotels, but to homes in general,” said Andrade.
One of the cases was that of the Copal hotel, where due to electrical failures and its power plant they had to send guests to other accommodations, as reported by Noticaribe.
“It’s been a very hot summer. We saw on the news, nationally, there was a lack of power generation across the country. It worries us because very hot months are coming,” Chaves said at the time.
