An intercity bus carrying more than 20 undocumented foreign nationals was secured this afternoon at the southern entry checkpoint of this city, and all these individuals were transferred to the facilities of the National Institute of Migration.
The bus was traveling on highway 307, from south to north, just before noon on Tuesday. However, upon reaching the police checkpoint installed at the exit to Tulum, municipal police officers signaled it to stop for an inspection.
Under the supervision of the National Guard, also present at the checkpoint, the officers looked inside and saw that it was full of people, to the extent that they even occupied the aisle, making it impossible to walk through.
Seeing this, the officers asked everyone to get off the vehicle and present their documentation, something that at least 20 people could not do. The police notified the National Institute of Migration, which sent personnel to transfer these individuals to their facilities, and the bus was also secured. Unofficially, it is mentioned that these individuals came from Honduras.
