The INAH stressed that it had not given any permission for these advertising images about the series that delves deeper into the universe of “Game of Thrones”
The National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), together with the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, reported that they are working on a lawsuit against the streaming platform ‘Max’, for the improper use of Chapultepec Castle to advertise the series “House of the Dragon”.
After images of the representative building located in Mexico City adorned with flags of the Targaryen family, an emblem of the protagonists of the popular television series, went viral, the authorities spoke out on the matter.
Through a statement, the INAH highlighted that the photographs currently circulating on the internet were created by artificial intelligence (AI), however, their reproduction had not been previously authorized by the organization.
Although it was reiterated that the images are false, since flags, banners or any other material alluding to the program have never been allowed to be placed on the premises of Chapultepec Castle, nor has a permit been requested for the promotion of the series in the space.
It is for this reason that the National Coordination of Legal Affairs of the INAH announced that it will carry out the corresponding legal measures for the improper use of images of a historical monument, the agency stated.
