This new service seeks to strengthen tourism and business in the region, offering direct connection to the largest hub in the United States.

American Airlines has launched a new flight from Dallas to Veracruz.

With this, the airline expanded its presence in Mexico, by inaugurating its 28th destination in the country, with a new daily service that connects the Veracruz International Airport “Heriberto Jara Corona” with the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

The flight operated by Envoy Air, under the American Eagle brand, uses Embraer E175 aircraft with capacity for 76 passengers.

The director of Operations for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean of American Airlines, José María Giraldo, highlighted the importance of this new route, “It will be a daily frequency that will allow us to strengthen both tourism and business.”

The first aircraft landed in Veracruz shortly before 12:00 noon.

“With this launch, we once again strengthen our commitment to Mexico, where we have a history of more than 80 years and where we are very proud to lead as the largest American airline with operations in the country,” said Giraldo.
The daily flight from Veracruz to Dallas-Fort Worth lasting 2 hours 44 minutes will attract tourists, but also business travelers.

There will be access to the largest hub in the United States, which has more than 925 daily flights to more than 230 destinations. The new route will facilitate a more fluid and practical movement between both destinations.

Economic impact for Veracruz

The economic impact for Veracruz is fundamental, said the Secretary of Tourism of the State of Veracruz, Iván Martínez Olvera, since it opens a range of possibilities for tourism service providers and local operators, who will be able to market connectivity with the United States and, specifically, with central Texas.

This route is added to the 10 existing ones that operate in the Veracruz terminal, consolidating its position as a key destination for tourism and business.

Martínez Olvera, highlighted that the entity has become a relevant tourist headquarters for national and international visitors.

“Veracruz is now an international and relevant headquarters for tourism in Mexico and abroad, as a reference, only as a specific reference, in 2018 we captured only 6.2 million visiting tourists, now, in exponential growth, last year 2023 we already captured 12.2 million visiting tourists.”

“Given these figures, given this growth, the coordinated work between the business sector and, of course, the different areas of government is undeniable. Another important example to highlight is that in 2018 we captured no more than six billion pesos in economic spillover, last year with exponential growth, I insist, more than 26 billion pesos in economic spillover.”
