Concrete slabs from a bridge that crosses the Mayan Train and leads to the municipality of Maxcanú, in Yucatán, broke off from the structure yesterday, presumably due to the rains that have fallen in the area; no injuries were reported.
Videos posted on social media show a wall of the bridge without the concrete pieces that covered it, as well as a part of the metal containment railing detached from the structure.

The events occurred yesterday afternoon on the bridge that leads to the archaeological zone of Oxkintok.
According to the Diario de Yucatán, the event was made known yesterday afternoon by social media users who live in the Puerta del Sol subdivision of this municipality, which is located next to said bridge.
Although there is still no official report, it is presumed that the rains of the season would have softened the ground and caused the concrete to come loose.
After what happened, the authorities cordoned off the area to prevent people from approaching and waiting for the corresponding authorities to attend to the defect.
The structure of the Mayan Train was not affected.
According to meteorological authorities, heavy rains are expected in the area due to the beginning of the hurricane season in the Atlantic.
