Monterrey-Saltillo highway closed due to tropical depression “Alberto”

Early this morning, the Saltillo-Monterrey highway was closed from km 54 to 82 due to adverse weather conditions of tropical depression Alberto

Early this morning, authorities announced the complete closure of the Saltillo-Monterrey highway from kilometer 54 to kilometer 82 in both directions, due to adverse weather conditions caused by recent rains from Tropical Depression Alberto. This closure has generated significant inconveniences for drivers and transporters who use this vital communication route.

Tropical Depression Alberto has generated significant problems in much of northeastern Mexico, resulting in the closure of the Monterrey-Saltillo highway. This situation has caused considerable disruption to local mobility, affecting both Coahuila and Nuevo León. Landslides and pronounced waterfalls between kilometers 54 and 82 have isolated the southeastern areas of these states, further complicating the situation.

In addition to the closure between kilometers 54 and 82, the highway has been closed from the Ojo Caliente toll booth. This blockage has left hundreds of travelers stranded in both directions, waiting for traffic to be restored.

The National Guard has announced a complete closure of traffic with no set deadline for the reopening of the road, which has increased uncertainty among drivers.
