An impressive police chase in Bucerías culminated with the capture of a fugitive from American justice, wanted for an alleged homicide case in his country of origin.
The man, between 35 and 40 years old, was driving a gray sedan reported stolen in Tepic. The chase began on Federal Highway 200, where state police tried to stop him as he fled toward the south of Nayarit. Given the seriousness of the situation, support was requested from the municipal authorities of Bahía de Banderas.
Once identified and upon entering Bucerías, the chase began along the central and lateral lanes of Riviera Nayarit Boulevard, ending at a gas station where the fugitive, in his attempt to escape, collided with several vehicles and was arrested by the agents. Later, he was placed at the disposition of the Public Prosecutor of Bucerías.
During the arrest process, it was discovered that the man had an arrest warrant in the United States for homicide, so he will now face a legal process in Mexico that will determine his legal situation in the next few hours.
US fugitive caught after chase in Bucerías
The Criminal Investigation and Forensic Services Agency of the Nayarit Prosecutor’s Office took charge of taking note of the damages caused and of gathering the necessary information for the corresponding investigation file, which will define the crimes charged to the detainee.
