The Secretary of Economic Development and Competitiveness (Sedec), Federico García Mallitz, revealed that there is a television company that is interested in filming a soap opera in Tabasco.

He said that in particular they have shown interest in locations in the magical town of Tapijulapa, in Tacotalpa, but also in the cocoa farms of Comalcalco.

He stressed that the diversification of the Orange Economy is also in projecting the state as a natural location for films such as Hurricane Season, which was filmed in the municipality of Paraíso.

“What interests the television company is the magical town of Tapijulapa and the cocoa farms. We have the warehouses in the Tabasco park that can serve as film sets. The Orange Economy is part of the diversification, no longer just depending on the oil sector,” he said.

He stressed that the credit for attracting productions to the state has been the Film Association of Tabasco.

He stressed that it was therefore important to have the Law for the Promotion, Encouragement and Development of the Film and Audiovisual Industry of the State of Tabasco.
