The Champayán lagoon will be the stage for the Nauticopa that will come for the first time to the municipality of Altamira, as a sporting event that seeks to promote the image and tourism of this city in southern Tamaulipas.
The mayor, Armando Martínez Manríquez, made the announcement this Monday, indicating that the event will take place on September 21 and 22, with a previous parade on the 20th.

The president of this sporting activity, René Senties Barrios, announced that for the first time the municipality of Altamira will be the stage for the Nauticopa 2024, in which there will be pilots from various states of the Mexican Republic.
“We are organizing the logistics of this event that will take place in this significant natural setting of the municipality since we will seek to hold a parade on the 20th through the various streets,” said Senties.
He added that “Altamira has become a municipality of progress, and which enjoys an important presence in the state of Tamaulipas, so the organizing committee of the Nauticopa made this important decision to organize this boat competition.”
10 pilots will be in the Nauticopa
There will be 10 pilots from various entities of the Republic who will have for the first time the opportunity to know the waters of the Champayán Lagoon, which have the necessary conditions for the development of this important activity of international level.
For his part, the mayor said he was very happy because with this activity “it will be a trigger to attract more tourism to the area and to know the benefits that exist in our municipality.”
“Today Altamira will be in the spotlight of the entire country and abroad with the development of the Nauticopa on September 21 and 22, to which we invite the population, since it is a free show for the families of this region to enjoy,” said the mayor.
He also thanked the organizing committee for choosing the municipality to carry out the Nauticopa on September 21 and 22, a family event that will be held for the first time in Altamira in the Champayán lagoon.
