Puerto Vallarta is the most expensive city to rent in Latin America, according to a study conducted by a brand specializing in economic issues.

According to a study by the company Numbeo, Mexico tops the list with four cities that are very expensive to live in, including the most expensive to rent a house or apartment.

The company took into account the cost of living in the downtown area, health, traffic, pollution and security.

The list is headed by Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco with average costs of 1,095.79 dollars (18,029.69 Mexican pesos), followed by Monterrey, Nuevo León with 1,095.79 dollars (18,029.69 Mexican pesos) and Mexico City with 1,029.59 dollars (16,940.46 Mexican pesos).

The list is followed by Panama City with rents of 938.33 dollars (15,438.91 Mexican pesos), San José, Costa Rica with 691.45 dollars (11,376.84 Mexican pesos), as well as Guadalajara, Jalisco with 682.17 dollars (11,224.15 Mexican pesos).

The list includes Querétaro, Queretaro, with 634.75 dollars (10,443.92 Mexican pesos), Montevideo, Uruguay: with 613.87 dollars (10,100.37 Mexican pesos), Sao Paulo, Brazil: with 595 dollars (9,789.89 Mexican pesos) and Lima, Peru: with 531.86 dollars (8,751.01 Mexican pesos).
