Tamaulipas registers economic spillover of 2,421 million pesos during summer vacations

Tourist destinations such as Tampico, Tula, Mier, Nuevo Laredo and Victoria are recording very notable increases in the number of visitors.

Tamaulipas has so far recorded an economic impact on tourism of more than 2,421 million pesos, with more than 2 million visitors to the different tourist spots in the state, reported the state’s Secretary of Tourism, Benjamín Hernández Rodríguez.

He said that both the tourist promotion and the perception of security in the state, with the presence of state and federal forces, as well as the statistics of the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, show the work of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya.

He also highlighted that some tourist destinations, such as Tampico, Tula, Mier, Nuevo Laredo and Victoria, are recording very notable increases in the number of visitors.

According to local information, the top 10 of the sites with the greatest tourist influx and economic impact is headed by Playa Miramar in Ciudad Madero. Second place goes to Tampico; third place to the Magical Town of Tula; fourth place to Ciudad Victoria; and fifth place to La Pesca in Soto la Marina.

In sixth place is Nuevo Laredo; in seventh place, Playa Bagdad; in eighth place, Jaumave; in ninth place, Barra del Tordo; and in tenth place, the Magical Town of Mier.

The secretary added that the summer vacation period began on July 6 and ends next weekend, so an increase is still expected both in the number of visitors and in the economic impact in the different tourist destinations of Tamaulipas.
