Terror in Guanajuato: 5 people executed in recycling warehouse and two others hanged from a vehicle bridge

Apaseo el Alto, Gto.- A criminal group killed five people inside a recycling plant in the San Antonio Calichar community, in Apaseo el Alto, Guanajuato, on the border with the state of Querétaro, while the bodies of two men were hung from the vehicular bridge located at the entrance to the Rincón de Tamayo community, in Celaya.

On Tuesday morning, armed men entered a recycling facility known as “Los Cholos,” where they allegedly shot at workers and people selling waste material. Four men and a woman died at the scene and another person was injured.

The attack occurred after 10 a.m., according to reports received by operators of the 911 Emergency System. The attackers fled the scene.

Elements of the National Guard, the Army and municipal police coordinated an operation and set up fences to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the crime scene and to protect the warehouse.

Forensic experts processed the scene, collected ballistic elements and removed the bodies.

In the first minutes of this Tuesday, drivers traveling on the Celaya-Salvatierra federal highway reported that two human bodies were hanging from the bridge at the entrance to Rincón de Tamayo.

In the same place, on July 29, two executed people were hanged.

The National Guard, the Army and the Municipal Police showed up at the scene and confirmed that the deceased showed signs of violence, one of them with a rope around his neck and another hanging by his feet. One without clothes and the other only in underwear.

The bodies were removed by security elements and transferred to the Forensic Medical Service.
