Up to $20,000 “floor fee” in Chihuahua, the most affected: Anpec

Anpec shared a map by federal entity of the country on the floor fee or extortion in which they demand a fee against businesses in the first quarter (January-March) of the previous year, 2023.

In the states, Chihuahua appears with a “floor fee” that varies from 15 thousand to 20 thousand pesos, without specifying the period of the same.

Although it is not a question of charging a floor fee, Anpec indicates that the economic impact on sales ranges from 70 to 80%, which is the highest level of impact among the entities in question:

In this regard, the Alliance commented: “Insecurity in Mexico continues to be one of the main concerns, affecting both the economy and the quality of life.

Recent events in Tamaulipas highlight the impact of the crime of extortion, which extends over more than two thirds of the national territory.

This situation not only undermines the entrepreneurial attitude, but also promotes inflation, generating an unfavorable economic environment.

It is crucial to implement public policies that guarantee security and protect the economic activity of all.”
