The United States and Michoacán strengthen the security of health inspectors

The head of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), Juan Carlos Oseguera Cortés, held a working meeting with representatives of the United States Embassy in Mexico and personnel from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to strengthen surveillance tasks focused on ensuring security for inspectors who visit mango and avocado orchards and packing houses.

The meeting was held in follow-up to the preventive actions that the State Government carries out to maintain order and deter illegal activities that put the production process and the export of fruits to the neighboring country at risk.

Oseguera Cortés highlighted the technological advances that C5 Michoacán implements through surveillance cameras, panic buttons, road arches and the radio communication network, tools that are used to increase preventive tasks and have a greater response to illegal acts.

The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretaries of Police Operations, Specialized Investigation, Police Development and Information Intelligence and Counterintelligence, who outlined the specific intelligence and operational actions that the Civil Guard carries out to ensure the tranquility of society.
