There are 6 deaths and 2,690 cases of dengue in Oaxaca, most of them in the Central Valleys

The Oaxaca Health Services (SSO) report that at the last epidemiological cut-off, 182 new cases of dengue were registered in Oaxaca; there are 2,690 confirmed cases.

The agency indicated that up to epidemiological week 33,m, two more deaths were confirmed due to this disease, by the National Committee for Epidemiological Surveillance.

This is a 45-year-old female, resident of San Antonio de la Cal, who had diabetes mellitus and pancreatitis, with a death date of June 16 of this year.

The second death corresponds to an 18-year-old male, from the municipality of Oaxaca de Juárez, diagnosed with cerebral palsy, with a death date of June 17 of this year.

With these figures, there are six confirmed deaths accumulated in the entity; Three belong to the Coastal Health Jurisdiction, two to Valles Centrales and one to Tuxtepec.

According to the classification of the disease: 1,336 correspond to Non-Severe Dengue (DNG), 1,186 to Dengue with Warning Signs (DCSA) and 168 to Severe Dengue (DG). By Health Jurisdiction: Valles Centrales has accumulated 2,241 cases, Costa 273, Istmo 77, Mixteca 37, Sierra 36 and Tuxtepec 26 cases.

This week, 64 municipalities reported new cases, with Oaxaca de Juárez leading the list with 48 reports, Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán with nine, Santiago Pinotepa Nacional with seven, Santo Domingo Ingenio with six and San Antonio de la Cal with five cases, among others.
