A doctor was reported after leaving physical sequelae on a woman following a cosmetic surgery at a clinic in Cancún. The man was charged and will remain in prison in Cancún.
A surgeon from Cancún identified as Ulises ‘N’ will remain in prison after being charged for his probable involvement in acts possibly constituting the crime of injuries against a victim whose identity is reserved.
The Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office managed to get a First Instance Criminal Judge of the Judicial District of Cancún to issue a formal imprisonment order against Ulises “N” for the events that occurred on May 16, 2013.
Investigations detail that it was at a clinic located on Nichupté Avenue, in Supermanzana 19 of Cancún, where the female victim underwent a cosmetic surgery that left her with physical sequelae.
After the complaint filed in May 2014, which did not progress due to various inconsistencies in the preliminary investigation, the Traditional System Investigating Public Prosecutor, attached to the Specialized Process Prosecutor’s Office, resubmitted the file in September 2023, addressing the deficiencies specified by the Federal Judge.
Subsequently, on July 11 of this year, the Seventh Criminal Chamber with traditional jurisdiction in the Superior Court of Justice revoked the First Instance Resolution, granting the arrest warrant against Ulises “N” for his probable responsibility in the crime of negligent injuries.
Following the fulfillment of the Judicial Mandate, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the First Instance Criminal Judge, who decreed the formal imprisonment order against the now accused.
It is noteworthy that Ulises “N” was linked to the process by a Control Judge for his probable involvement in the crime of femicide against a female victim, which occurred on February 3, 2019, in the municipality of Solidaridad; for this reason, he will remain in preventive detention for a term of two years.
