A young couple, aged between 22 and 25, was shot to death while riding a motorcycle through downtown Zihuatanejo.
The woman, who was apparently pregnant, and her companion died on the spot due to multiple gunshot wounds.
The attack took place in the park on Rubí Street, near a kindergarten, causing panic among parents who were picking up their children at the time.
The State Attorney General’s Office quickly arrived at the site, cordoned off the area and collected shell casings from a 9-millimeter caliber weapon.
The bodies were taken to the Forensic Medical Service to perform an autopsy and confirm whether the woman was pregnant.
So far, the identity of the victims has not been released.
