In Oaxaca, they seek to ban narcocorridos and reggaeton

The governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara, from Morena, seeks to prohibit by law and decree the transmission and concerts of reggaeton, corridos tumbados, narcocorridos and reggaeton on radio and television stations, in addition to concerts, considering them sexist and generators of violence.

The governor stated that he will revive the initiative that he sought to promote in the Senate, but now to advance the prohibition in Oaxaca of all music that implies an apology for violence, bad behavior and aggression against women.

Jara proposes that his bill that he will make clear to the Chamber of Deputies decree a prohibition on the dissemination of music that promotes sexist language, and gives as an example of this the musical genre reggaeton or those that call for drug use, bad behavior and violence such as narcocorridos and corridos tumbados.

For example, the president ordered the cancellation of the performances of Natanael Cano and Dani Flow, known as “El Rey del Morbo” (The King of Morbidity), scheduled to take place in a stadium at the Benito Juárez Autonomous University of Oaxaca (UABJO) because their show was considered misogynistic because the lyrics of the songs insult women.

Jara said in this regard that “Whoever it is, we will not allow it, I have given instructions to be very careful that we do not have any singer or some singers, or group that make an apology for violence against women that also have repercussions with peaceful coexistence.”
In response through his social networks, the singer Dani Flow first corrected the head of the SMO on how his name is written and then assured that his performance will take place in Oaxaca.
