Man Nearly Devoured by Crocodiles in Tabasco | VIDEO

The homeless man entered the Laguna de las Ilusiones where he was indeed bitten by an animal, and his condition is reported as serious.

A homeless man was rescued from being devoured by a crocodile after he entered the Laguna de las Ilusiones to bathe, an urban body of water considered a sanctuary for lizards.

The incident occurred in the Magisterial neighborhood, where the homeless man jumped a fence to enter the Laguna de las Ilusiones.

The person was taken to the “Dr. Gustavo A. Rovirosa Pérez” Regional High Specialty Hospital, which primarily handles trauma cases. The medical report indicates that his health condition is serious.

Authorities from the State Police of the SSPCT and elements of Municipal Civil Protection responded to the neighbors’ report and then requested the support of paramedics from the State Emergency System of Tabasco (SEUT) to transport the injured man to the hospital.

Bite Caused Severe Injuries

The director of the State Emergency System (SEU), Pedro Pablo Uc Chi, described that the person had a bite on the chest and was being evaluated by paramedics.

“The injury is a fracture of the rib arches, and the problem can lead to respiratory and pulmonary complications due to contamination from the animal’s mouth. Antibiotics must be administered, and monitoring is required,” he explained.

He emphasized that the patient’s condition is serious and, therefore, he is receiving specialized care that includes a series of studies.

He said that, according to neighbors’ testimony, the crocodile would come out to sunbathe in the same place every day.

“That little animal always suns itself in the place, and today it found a prey. They are part of our fauna; we came to live where they already lived. We are the invaders,” the official warned.
