Red wine, one of the most revered and complex beverages in the world, has captured the imagination of wine lovers for centuries. From the fruity character of a Pinot Noir to the intensity of a Cabernet Sauvignon, each type of red wine has its own distinctive profile, influenced by factors such as the type of grape and the aging process.

Between aromas, presences and flavors, the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) shared the findings of its latest analysis, in which it evaluated 19 Mexican wine brands found in supermarkets and stores nationwide.

The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of these wines, considering various key aspects for consumers. The analysis carried out by Profeco included the review of the alcohol content, dry extract, amount of methanol, net content, as well as the aroma and flavor of each wine. In addition, the assessment of independent sommeliers was included, who carried out blind tastings to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation.
