A jewel in the mountains of the Guadalupe Valley

The first ray of sunlight that peeks out from behind the mountains gently enters through the huge window, awakening you and inviting you to prepare a method coffee: you pour the hot water – exactly 90ºC – over the freshly ground beans and let it filter slowly, drop by drop. The aroma envelops the room and, with cup in hand, you go out to the private terrace where you have the Guadalupe Valley at your feet; the landscape is so amazing that you don’t know whether to stay and contemplate it or run and start exploring it immediately.

This is how the days begin at MIRA Earth Studios, a development that, more than a luxury hotel, is a complete experience: from its architecture that blends perfectly with the landscape and the design of studio rooms built with natural materials from the area (for example, the jacuzzi gives off a fresh smell of raw clay and the woody aroma of the private sauna in each room helps you relax), to the organization of activities such as personalized yoga classes or a ride in vintage cars to see vineyards in the area.

Each studio has a fire pit next to the jacuzzi on the terrace and a selection of wines specially curated by Nicolas Kendall, co-founder of the property. Every morning a basket with fresh ingredients for preparing breakfast arrives in the room: jam, eggs, homemade bread, fruit and fruit juice and, as the story of the beginning, you can also make coffee using the method.

A story of community and fraternity

MIRA Earth Studios is located within the enormous Rancho Sordomudo, a place that was, for many years, a space of shelter and support for deaf people, where in addition to being a safe haven where they could live, they were taught sign language and different trades.

And that cooperative spirit has not changed with the arrival of the hotel. One of the most interesting aspects of this project is its commitment to creating a strong community with the most interesting representatives of local gastronomy today.

From the not insignificant detail that each room also includes stone-oven pizzas by chef Tania Livier (although if you want to head to her restaurant Tanto Santo in Ensenada, we recommend that too), and something that no other place has: there are pre-prepared drinks to enjoy in the room without having to call anyone.

In addition, at the request of the guests, picnics can be organized to watch the sunset on the top of the hill with a full view of the Guadalupe Valley and the abundant food is prepared by the chefs of restaurants such as Madre and Envero (both included in the famous Michelin guide of places to visit in Baja California), as well as local wines that have won international awards.

It is not an exaggeration to say that at MIRA absolutely every detail is taken care of and planned and, if it were not for the vastness of the Guadalupe Valley, leaving the room would not be an option.
