There is concern in Xochimilco over a ‘serial killer’ of dogs

The appearance of 25 dogs killed in the Nativitas Forest, Xochimilco municipality, aroused fear, indignation and desire for justice among the residents who have witnessed and reported these crimes for a year, where the patterns of torture and cruelty towards these sentient beings are the same and makes them think that it is a “serial killer.”

From Cocoa to Goliath, the dogs were abandoned in that forest, all with signs of torture and violence, leading the rescuers to maintain that it is someone who knows about veterinary medicine, because the cuts and extraction of organs denote that it is someone specialized and it is not a Santeria ritual, as was initially thought.

“We are not forensic experts, but we deduce that they were not murdered there, because there are no traces of blood, they just appear there. Most of them are medium to small dogs, almost all of them light-colored, only the last one was black (…) the Prosecutor’s Office told us ‘this is the work of a serial killer who can escalate the violence to human beings’”, reported Áurea, from the group We Love Xoch Dogs.

The first victim was Cocoa, she recalled, whose body was abandoned on the forest’s athletics track, in full view of visitors.

A year later, Goliath, a dog with an owner, became the 25th victim, after leaving home with a second pet when opening the door, but he never returned; today, his owner Alejandro asked for justice.

“It is something that only people who have a degree of psychopathy cannot feel pain. Seeing dogs appear with these signs of torture, these signs of sadism, opened in an exact way is something that should surprise the authorities. All the dogs have appeared on the sides with cuts in the ribs, some with organs and others without organs. “It’s the same cut,” explained Nitzia Rosas, a rescuer from the group.

In this regard, an expert consulted by 24 HORAS, who asked to remain anonymous, agreed that the events could be the work of not just one person, but a group of people.

“The main message is ‘look at what I’m doing.’ What they want is to satisfy their emotional need, or their pathology, to generate or transmit that message, for you to see what they do. It is part of the behavioral pattern of these people. There are certain characteristics that the animals share in terms of cuts, they are repetitive behaviors, that share certain patterns, that perhaps one person is doing, or a group,” she explained.
