The Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) of the state of Chiapas issued a wanted poster for Aníbal Roblero Castillo, mayor-elect of the municipality of Frontera Comalapa, Chiapas, who was allegedly kidnapped on Tuesday, September 3 by a commando.

A video is circulating on social media showing the alleged kidnapping of the member of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) along with another person from a cafe in the west of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas.

The recording captures the mayor-elect being taken out of the establishment, put in a van and fleeing, followed by another vehicle. The events occurred, according to surveillance cameras, around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3.

The state agency’s search card details that the politician is 54 years old, of medium build, with a snub nose and, according to what one of his sons said, the last time he was seen was on September 3 in the Terán neighborhood, in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, so his whereabouts are unknown.

This illegal deprivation of liberty adds to the climate of insecurity that exists in the municipalities located in the southeast of Chiapas, where there are different cartels that fight over the areas, forcing the displacement of residents.
