Judicial Branch workers block the Mexico-Querétaro highway and Periférico Norte

Demanding the non-approval of the judicial reform, hundreds of PJF workers blocked the Mexico-Querétaro highway and Periférico Norte, in the direction of Mexico City, causing severe traffic chaos this morning.

The workers oppose judges and magistrates being elected through a voting process, and not through knowledge and competitive examinations as has been done.

A first blockade was carried out past the Tepotzotlán toll booth and near the Bus Terminal, where some 130 protesters entered the central lanes of the road where they blocked the passage of vehicles for about 20 minutes, then advanced on foot.

The workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation traveled from kilometer 40 to the Circuito Exterior Mexiquense (CEM) on foot, then boarded their vehicles and continued their journey.

Blockade on Periférico Norte

Another group entered the central lanes of Periférico Norte at Plaza Satélite in Naucalpan, blocked the road and walked until they reached the Cuauhtémoc unit where they remained stopped for about 10 minutes.

They then boarded about 50 vehicles and two buses and left in a caravan bound for Mexico City, where they hope to continue their protests in front of the Senate of the Republic.

Both roads registered severe settlements and slow progress derived from these blockades carried out by workers of the Judicial Branch of the Federation in requesting that the Judicial Reform not be approved.
