In the first quarter of 2024, Quintana Roo established itself as the national leader in the growth of paid jobs in economic activities, with an increase of 9.2%, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

This performance highlights the state above other entities such as Nuevo León and Baja California Sur, which reported a growth of 4.1% each.

The governor of Quintana Roo, Mara Lezama Espinosa, attributed this achievement to the “New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo”, an initiative that seeks to promote a more fair and equitable economy in the region.

“These achievements published by INEGI are the result of a joint effort to promote a fair and equitable economy. With each new formal and well-paid job, we are building a shared prosperity that benefits every corner of our state,” said Lezama Espinosa.

In addition to the growth in jobs, Quintana Roo also led the increase in wages for salaried employees nationwide.

During the same period, salaries in the state registered an increase of 17.9%, surpassing Nuevo León with 10.1% and Baja California Sur with 10.4%, according to the National Survey of Occupation and Employment (ENOE) of INEGI.

Governor Lezama Espinosa reaffirmed her commitment to continue working for the economic development of the state.

“We will continue working firmly 24/7 to ensure that these advances translate into solid economic development and a promising future for everyone in this New Era of Transformation in Quintana Roo,” she added.

The results presented by INEGI, in its Quarterly Measurements of Jobs and their Remunerations by Federal Entity (MTPTREF), are crucial to understanding the country’s labor dynamics.

These measurements allow us to know not only the number of jobs in each state, but also the salary levels that workers receive.

Quintana Roo’s outstanding performance in these indicators reflects the state’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its economy and improve the quality of life of its inhabitants, positioning it as an example to follow in the national context.
