A fierce shootout occurred in the municipality of Corregidora in Querétaro after armed individuals attempted to kidnap a businessman. Following the attack, two people were injured.
The incident took place shortly before 12:00 PM this Friday, near the Balvanera Industrial Park in the municipality of Corregidora, as confirmed by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) and the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM).
According to local media, armed individuals apparently tried to kidnap a businessman traveling in a white Rolls Royce SUV with Morelos state license plates.
However, the businessman’s bodyguards repelled the attack, resulting in a shootout that left two people injured, who were taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
The SSPM of Corregidora reported through its social media that the corporation’s elements maintained an operation in the area in search of the probable perpetrators of the shootout.
Additionally, it detailed that the scene was cordoned off for evidence collection and awaiting the FGE of Querétaro.
The Attorney General’s Office issued a statement detailing that information was collected at the scene and evidence related to the incident was processed.
It also detailed that two people were injured and were taken to a private hospital by private security personnel of one of the injured.
Furthermore, it mentioned that the second injured person was part of the businessman’s bodyguards who ended up injured in the shootout.
