According to INEGI, Zacatecas stands out among the four federal entities with the greatest growth in its industrial activity

Zacatecas reached fourth place in growth of its industrial activity, according to the Monthly Indicator of Industrial Activity by Federal Entity (IMAIEF), published by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), with figures corresponding to May 2024.

The entity registered a monthly growth of 6.3 percent in its industrial activity, which places it as one of the states with the best performance in this period.

This significant growth is a reflection of the government’s commitment to strengthen the local economic fabric, through policies and programs to promote greater integration of leading companies with the local economy, provide support to entrepreneurs and MSMEs, and attract new investments that translate into jobs and economic growth.

In the results by sector, Mining stands out with a monthly growth of 24.9 percent, followed by Electricity, natural gas and water, with an increase of 5.7 percent; Non-metallic industries, with a growth of 4.4 percent, and metal-mechanical industries with a monthly increase of 2.4 percent.

This economic boost confirms the effectiveness of the economic strategies implemented by the Government of Zacatecas; it is a clear sign of the transformation of the state into a hub of industrial development and a society with greater well-being, more prosperous and at peace.
