Cabify Mexico announced that next October it will stop operating in the cities where it operates in the country.

The company explains that “Cabify has a strong commitment to the search for profitability and growth, and as a result of a constant process of analysis in this market, it has made the difficult decision to stop its local operation in the country.”

In a statement, the firm said that a total of five Cabify employees in Mexico have been affected by this decision, which was communicated personally and recognizing their contribution.
“Cabify will support them in their departure, giving them resources so that they can find a new professional project as soon as possible,” it added.

The company said that Cabify’s business model, which seeks to create a new Ibero-American mobility, has not worked as expected in the Mexican market and no future opportunities have been identified.

“For this reason, this difficult decision has been taken, which will be effective on October 11. All driver partners, passengers and companies that use Cabify Mexico’s services have been duly informed and have been thanked for the trust placed in them.

“In the country, the application created its local company 12 years ago, being one of the first operations that were started in Latin America, and from the beginning it was formally constituted under Mexican laws,” he said.

He added that in the rest of the companies in Latin America, Cabify’s business continues to consolidate and shows relevant sustainable growth data.

“Cabify will continue to focus on promoting increasingly accessible, sustainable and humane mobility,” the company said.
