Maritime history is preserved with the rehabilitation of the Casa del Marino in Mazatlán.
In a statement it was reported that the remodeling works had an investment of 93 million pesos and 4,200 square meters of intervention, with which this emblematic enclosure located on Paseo Claussen was rescued.
Mayor Edgar González highlighted that this project was carried out thanks to the support of the federal government headed by the President of the Republic Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
“Being such an important port in the Pacific, and not even having something open to the public related to the maritime, with what characterizes the sailors of our port, it was also something that could not be, I think that something we have to boast about is precisely the history of the sailors, of those who founded and those who formed this port,” said Edgar González.
He recalled the various supervision sessions carried out by Secretary Román Meyer and was very aware of the development.
For his part, the head of Sedatu, Román Meyer Falcón, commented that this facility was created especially for children.
“We had an abandoned house in one of the most important parts of Mazatlán, historical points, beachfront, we have the historical part behind us, we have the canyon, we have El Fuerte, so the focus we wanted to give it is how we are going to preserve the historical legacy of Mazatlán, through a museum that tells the maritime history of Mazatlán, but that has a focus for a particular public that is a child public,” said Román Meyer.
The Marino house will soon be reopened to the public.
This symbolic delivery was attended by Mayor Edgar González, the president of the DIF, María Teresa Apodaca de González, the head of Sedatu, Román Meyer Falcón, members of the board of trustees of the Marino house and councilors.
