Some public and private schools in Mazatlán have suspended classes

Due to security issues regarding the violent events that are taking place in Culiacán, some public and private schools in Mazatlán cut and suspended classes.

Before noon on Wednesday, some educational institutions sent a notification to WhatsApp groups that classes would be suspended, such as ETI 77.

Later, Colegio SAM joined in with the notice: “Moms and dads. Due to security issues regarding what happened in Culiacán, we are returning the students. In case you want to pick up your children at this time, you can do so.”

Later, in the face of the wave of misinformation, he urged the educational community to stay informed of the news through institutional channels such as those of the school, and to follow the instructions of the relevant authorities.

Likewise, the José Vasconselos high school published: “To the educational community of the ‘José Vasconcelos’ federal cooperative high school, due to the situation of uncertainty that prevails in the state, and in order not to risk the physical integrity of our students, classes for evening shift students are suspended for today, Wednesday, September 11.”

The same was done by the general secondary school number 2 “Leyes de Reforma”.

Regarding this, José Juan Rendón Gómez, head of regional services of the Sepyc, said that there was no official indication to suspend classes.
