Nearly 100 cranes from the Alliance of Auto Transporters, Merchants and Associates of Mexico (ACME) gathered since dawn around the toll booth of the Mexico-Querétaro highway in Tepotzotlán.

These units will presumably join the road closure announced by transporters to protest extortion, burning of units and abuse of authority by criminal groups, “who have wanted to force us to abandon our sources of employment.”

The caravan of transporters that would leave from the Jilotepec area, would be made up of drivers and personnel transport units, passenger transport units and taxi drivers.

The Union of Transporters of Personnel Transport Units and Taxi Drivers Organizations of Jilotepec denounced that hundreds of workers from transnational companies are at risk because they have been taken off personnel transport units by armed groups, in actions that they claim are covered up and permitted by local municipal authorities.

Meanwhile, the drivers of the Acme tow trucks in Tepoztlán, who are not known to be in favor or against the transporters from Jilotepec, reported that they will carry out a “slow march” along the highway towards Naucalpan.

Also in the Naucalli Park, in Naucalpan, there is another group of tow trucks concentrated whose drivers affirm that they will advance towards Tlalnepantla to the offices of the Ministry of Mobility of the State of Mexico.
