Officially at 10:53 AM today, the last presidential visit of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to Yucatán concluded, nine days before the end of his term. After spending the night in Mérida, accompanied by a delegation that included President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, some newly elected governors, and state officials, they all headed to Oaxaca.

Among the companions were Delfina Gómez from the State of Mexico and the newly elected governor of Tabasco, Javier May Rodríguez, among others who arrived last Friday from Cancún on the Maya Train.

They participated in inaugurations and had a working meeting in Chichén Itzá, then moved to the state capital, where they spent the night.

Yesterday, we reported that Joaquín Díaz Mena, the governor-elect of the state, accompanied the president on his last presidential visit to Yucatán to inaugurate the Maya Train hotel, the terminal of this transport in Pisté, and to put new wagons into operation. The tour concluded with a meal and a working meeting in Chichén Itzá.

Díaz Mena offered the members of the delegation, mainly his counterparts, a dinner at the restaurant on the upper floor of Pasaje Picheta, next to the Government Palace, in the Historic Center of the city.

The only ones who did not attend were López Obrador and the president-elect, who remained in their hotel, although Jesús María Tarriba, the husband of the latter, did attend the dinner.

To conclude the official visit, this morning they all moved to Air Base No. 8, where, led by the president, they boarded an aircraft that departed at 10:53 AM heading to Oaxaca, where the events with the president continued.
