Shin Fujiyama helps a Honduran man tortured and abandoned in Chiapas

On day 67 of his 3,000-kilometer challenge to build schools in Honduras, Japanese influencer Shin Fujiyama experienced a heartbreaking moment when he found a young Honduran man tortured and abandoned on the side of the road in Chiapas, Mexico.

According to a post made by Fujiyama on his social media, the young man showed obvious signs of torture. In the live broadcast that day through the TikTok platform, the Japanese team mentioned that the young man had fractured legs and feet.

“He doesn’t even remember his name, he only knows that he is from Honduras,” they said.

Meanwhile, Shin, through his Instagram account, wrote: “I am very sad because today we found a Honduran brother tortured and lying on the side of the road. He was still alive and we managed to take him to the hospital by ambulance. Thank you to the authorities and paramedics of Tonalá for responding so quickly and saving his life. May God take care of every migrant who wants to earn enough to eat for their families.”

So far, there is no updated information on the status of the young Honduran found by the Japanese influencer. Neither has his identity nor that of those responsible for his torture been reported.

The incident occurred while Fujiyama continued his journey from Mexico to Honduras, a journey that began in June 2023 with the aim of supporting the education of Honduran children.

This challenge not only seeks to raise funds for the construction of schools, but also to inspire more people to collaborate with his cause.

Is the life of Shin and his team in danger?

The situation in Chiapas has been particularly tense for Fujiyama and his team, who have faced several security challenges in the region, and while crossing through the city of Arriaga, they were intercepted by an unmarked vehicle, which raised concern.

Initially, they thought they were police officers, however, it was the Mexican Police who confirmed that they were not officers, increasing the team’s concern.

Fortunately, after the incident went viral on social media, the Mexican police came to help him and escort him to Tapachula.

Despite these obstacles, the influencer has maintained his commitment to the cause, highlighting the importance of education and the well-being of children in vulnerable communities.
