Juan Miguel Lizardi Castro, alias “Metro 56” or “El Miguelito”, one of the priority criminal targets in Tamaulipas, was arrested in Reynosa.
The arrest took place in a luxurious residence in the Prolongación Longoria neighborhood while he was with several of his men who were also arrested.
The “M-56” is identified as the main generator of violence in the Reynosa and Río Bravo region, especially in the area of kidnappings.

“El Miguelito” was wanted for homicides and executions that occurred in Matamoros, Río Bravo and Reynosa, crimes that have increased and affected both citizens and small and large businesses.
It was revealed that the Special Investigations group of the Investigative Ministerial Police and personnel from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Attorney General’s Office had been carrying out a follow-up work on the movements of the “Metro 56”.
This individual operated in the municipalities of Reynosa and Río Bravo and was on the State Attorney General’s most wanted list, with a reward being offered for information leading to his arrest.
