Calls for millionaire fishing tournaments open in Los Cabos

In Los Cabos, the success of the Marlini, Bisbee’s Offshore, Bisbee’s Black & Blue, and Tuna Los Cabos Jackpot tournaments is guaranteed, since there are species destined for these tournaments, thanks to the sustainable practice of “catch and release” that helps their reproduction.

The launch of the Fishing in the fice series aims to promote this sport in the five municipalities of the state of Baja California Sur, within which it is planned to start with the Marlini Cabo San Lucas tournament.

With a guaranteed prize pool of one million pesos, the fourth edition of the Marlini Cabo San Lucas sport fishing tournament will be held on Friday, October 12 and Saturday, October 13. It is estimated that 60 teams will participate, who will participate in the capture of dorado and wahoo fish. First place will receive 500 thousand pesos, second place 250 thousand and third place 150 thousand pesos. There will also be the opportunity to increase the prize for those who enter the jackpots. There will also be a children’s clinic so that they can learn about this activity and raise awareness about the care of the seas and marine species.

The Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore 2024 tournament will take place from October 14 to 19, where it is expected to exceed the number of participants and prizes of 2023, which despite the fact that the days established for its competition had to be modified due to the presence of a meteorological phenomenon, however, this did not prevent the participation of 130 teams with a purse of 2 million 300 thousand dollars in prizes.

Later, the 44th Edition of the Bisbee’s Black and Blue Marlin Tournament will take place from October 22 to 26, where participants in the categories for catching tuna and dorado are also awarded.

In the 43rd edition held in 2023, 213 boats participated, and prizes of more than 9 million 300 thousand dollars were awarded, with the integration of teams from the United States, Spain, Australia, Panama, Guatemala, New Zealand, mainly from Mexico, from the states of Jalisco, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Ensenada, Monterrey, among others.

From Wednesday, November 6 to Saturday, November 9, the Tuna Jackpot 2024 Los Cabos tournament is organized. In last year’s edition, the prizes were close to one and a half million dollars.

The 2024 Los Cabos pelagic fishing triple crown and the 2024 Bisbee’s East Cape sport fishing tournament were held with great success on June 6 and 9, 2024, and from July 30 to August 3, 2024.

These sport fishing tournaments that raise the name of the state and the state of Baja California Sur are possible thanks to the organizers, competitors, and state and municipal authorities and FONMAR who provide all the facilities.
