Although with fewer participants compared to the initial marches, workers of the Federal Judiciary (PJF) held a walk on Itzaes Avenue, Mérida, to protest against the judicial reform.
In parallel with their work stoppage, the workers gathered at the doors of the headquarters building, located in the Petronila neighborhood, on 45th Street between 84 and 84-A in the city center.
As we reported, PJF workers, judges, and magistrates will extend their strike until October 2, a day after Claudia Sheinbaum assumes the presidency of the country.
At 11 a.m., they began the march from 45th Street, took Itzaes Avenue, and walked to the Hidalgo roundabout, where they returned to the PJF headquarters in Yucatán.
March in Mérida against judicial reform
About 150 workers participated in the march, a smaller contingent compared to the walks held before the reform proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was approved.
The contingent was not very animated either, as although those at the front kept shouting, a large part of the people at the end simply walked and talked among themselves, mostly about the heat.
Upon their return to 45th Street, the organizers called for a new demonstration to be held tomorrow, Tuesday, on International Avenue towards Mérida airport.
