Intercambiarán árboles por basura electrónica en Chihuahua

In order to support the care of the environment, avoiding the disposal of electronic waste and waste requiring specific care in the Sanitary Landfill, Gabriel Valdez Juárez, Secretary of Urban Development and Ecology, announced the call for “ExpoRecicla 2024”.

The event will take place next Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 on the esplanade of the Plaza del Ángel, where various wastes in need of special treatment will be collected and even those from which metals and plastics can be recovered for reuse.

In his meeting with the media, the state official said that this event seeks to support citizens with garbage that is not commonly carried through the garbage trucks that circulate through the capital and they expect this year to exceed the 33 tons collected last year.

The event will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., where fruit trees and ornamental trees will be handed out in exchange for computers, cell phones, televisions, printers, modems, VCRs, stereos, cameras, electronic cards, laptops, tablets, copiers, chargers, speakers and radios.

Appliances such as ovens, irons, coffee makers, blenders, toasters, refrigerators, washing machines and cables will also be received; additionally, PET material, cardboard and its derivatives and some types of glass will be collected.

This year, Gabriel Valdez added, there will be a collection service in homes or businesses that request it, as long as they have waste over 150 kilos in order to contribute to the care of the environment and prevent it from reaching the Sanitary Landfill without adequate treatment.
