Burned trucks on the Durango-Mazatlán highway were transporting tourists

Elements of the State Police participated in the special operation that they implemented to provide security to tourists traveling aboard three buses on the Durango-Mazatlán toll road, which a group of armed civilians forced to get off to set fire to two units, among which were 50 Torreón residents who were headed to the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa.

The event that caused fear among travelers who fortunately are all safe and without injuries, occurred on Thursday afternoon near the town of Chavarría Nuevo in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo, Durango, kilometer 133+100.

The 165 affected, some of whom were returning from Mazatlán to Durango, were forced to get off by the armed civilians and took refuge in the school of the community in question, while two of the buses were driven across the asphalt and set on fire by the unknown persons.

After the State Police officers became aware of the incident, they went to the place where they contacted the victims, to provide security and get them safely to their destination.

One of the drivers of the red Premium line truck indicated that he was coming from the city of Torreón, Coahuila with a total of 50 passengers bound for Mazatlán; likewise, the second crew member of the blue Irizar unit indicated that he was indicating that they were coming from Monclova, Coahuila, with 35 people.

Bus number 3 is from the Futura Irizar company and is white, the driver indicating that they were coming from Mazatlán bound for Durango, with which there were 80 passengers, who were traveling in two buses.
