During a raid on two properties in Mérida and Kanasín, authorities seized more than 100 kilograms of marijuana and various synthetic drugs such as crack and crystal.

The first raid took place yesterday on Quetzalcóatl Avenue near 16th Street in the Chichén Itzá neighborhood, east of the Yucatecan capital, where approximately six kilograms of marijuana were seized.

Meanwhile, this Friday, an operation was carried out on 34th Street in the Leona Vicario neighborhood, municipality of Kanasín, where approximately 104 kilograms of cannabis were seized, distributed in bricks, bags, and jars; chemical drugs were also found.

In both raids, authorities seized personal identification documents, among other evidence related to the commission of the crime.

The operations were carried out following anonymous tips to 089, which led to a series of investigations after which judges granted search warrants. These were executed by elements of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) assigned to the State Investigation Police (PEI), the Canine Unit (K9), and Citizen Security, in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), as well as the Army, Navy, and National Guard.
