Durango-Mazatlán superhighway is enabled

After an incident on the Durango-Mazatlán highway at kilometer 137 on Saturday night, the situation was remedied and it is now open for traffic in both directions.

In this regard, Oscar Galvan, Secretary of Public Security in Durango, was interviewed and said that traveling to Sinaloa is the responsibility of each person, so crossing the Sierra Madre Occidental by land should be considered.

“I would like to tell you that both highways are now open, the highway and the free highway. On the Sinaloa side, it is already completely open. (There is) some common strategy, there is a lot of security there as well on that side, a lot of presence of the National Guard, of the security institutions, and well, that allows us to have a strategy so that vacationers can leave, it is at their own risk. The roads to the neighboring port are open.”

He called on anyone who decides to travel to Sinaloa to do so with the greatest care, but also at a good time, so that night does not take them by surprise.

“It is at my discretion, there are many people who bought their packages, who may have saved money. I can tell them that there is a lot of presence in both states, but if they have to do it, they should do it with a lot, they should leave at a good time, they should not do it at night.”

Regarding the security conditions on the roads to Sinaloa, he explained that a sufficient number of elements have been deployed to protect the citizens, and that coordination is maintained with other corporations with the Secretariat of National Defense and the National Guard, and the municipal corporations on the borders not only with Sinaloa, but also with Chihuahua, Zacatecas and Coahuila.

Regarding the message circulating in the capital of Durango about an alleged curfew due to armed incidents in Durango, Galván responded that it is a message that has been sent in various states of the Republic, which is false.
