50 “Taxi Pet” Services Launched in Playa del Carmen

A new transportation initiative called “Taxi Pet” has been launched in Playa del Carmen, involving 50 units from the “Lázaro Cárdenas del Río” Taxi Drivers’ Union to serve pet owners and their pets.

Juan Antonio Martínez, the creator of the “Taxi Pet” initiative, explained that the project aims to provide affordable transportation for dogs and cats within the tourist destination.

The initiative also supports individuals who independently rescue animals, as well as civil organizations that perform this work within the municipality. To continue animal rescues, they will be offered free transportation. The service is also available for people who need to travel with adopted pets.

Currently, there are only 50 taxi units participating in the “Taxi Pet” group, operated by members of the “Lázaro Cárdenas del Río” Taxi Drivers’ Union. To improve the service, drivers receive training on proper handling of companion animals.

To request transportation for pets, you need to contact 984 188 66 04 and provide location details so a “Taxi Pet” driver can come to your home.
