Due to ‘kidnappings’, Alianza has considered reducing truck schedules in Mazatlán

The Mazatlan Urban Truck Alliance has considered the possibility of reducing operating hours due to the situation of insecurity and forced disappearances in southern Sinaloa, but for now they have not implemented the measure, announced Efrén Landell Osuna.

The president of the Mazatlan Truck Alliance mentioned that they are waiting for instructions from the authorities to modify their work schedule.

“We have thought about it, but we cannot until the authorities order us to. We continue working normally, until the government says, reduce the hours, we cannot do it,” declared Landell Osuna.

Despite the uncertainty and fear among drivers, the Truck Alliance provides its usual service, he specified.

Some routes begin to operate at 5 in the morning and end between 9 and 11 at night, he said.

“It is the same schedule, it has not been modified at all,” said Landell Osuna.

The president of the Alliance acknowledged that there is concern among drivers due to violence, but he stressed their commitment to work.

“They are ‘a little scared’ like any human being, but there they are, with the faith that nothing will happen, there they are working,” he said.
