The alleged boss of the Santa Rosa de Lima cartel in Dolores Hidalgo, Pedro, was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, October 1.
The arrest was carried out by military personnel and agents of the Special Reaction and Intervention Force (FERI) of the National Guard; he had with him weapons for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces, as well as magazines and cartridges.
Official sources reported that the arrest is part of the strategy implemented by the Security Cabinet of President Claudia Sheinbaum, to be executed in the first 100 days of her Government, with the purpose of reducing the rates of violence and generating an environment of peace throughout the country.
The detainee, nicknamed “Don Pedro”, according to authorities was dedicated to the theft and sale of hydrocarbons illegally extracted from Pemex pipelines, and to the extortion of state government authorities.
